Let’s Do the Math. A Great School Plus a Great City Equals . . .
Nearly 200 years after it was founded, NYU has finally begun to receive full credit and attention for the outstanding university it has become . . . and some would say, has always been! Newsweek applauds NYU as one of the 25 “New Ivies” among American universities. The school has broken free from a couple of unfair stereotypes which have followed it in the past. First, high school students have begun to recognize and accept NYU as an outstanding university . . . period . . . no qualifications. Gone are the days when students thought of NYU as a great regional university or a good place to go to school if you intended to pursue a career in Manhattan. Also gone are the days of attending NYU because it was your next choice if you weren’t accepted at Columbia. NYU is now a destination university. Students are there because they want to be there not because they didn’t get in someplace else.
There is an old real estate adage which states that the three most important features of a house are its location, its location and its location. Apply the same consideration to universities and NYU is at the very top of the list for any student interested in an urban environment. If you like cities, it just doesn’t get any better than going to college right smack dab in the middle of Manhattan. An outstanding university in the middle of an outstanding world city . . . at uraccepted, we don’t think a high school senior could ask for much more when looking at colleges!
